Christmas Week

Monday 10th December, 2018

As we are fast approaching the end of term we have a lot of events and activities scheduled for the last week, details of which are listed below. Please can we ask that you ensure that the reply slip is completed fully and returned to the School Office by the deadlines.

Monday 17th December

All Middlezoy KS2 pupils will be transported to Othery in the afternoon to watch the Owls, Lapwings and Hatchlings classes perform their Christmas Nativity – ‘A King is Born’.

All children can be collected directly from Othery School at 3.15pm or they will be taken by minibus back to Middlezoy School for collection. There will be no Celebration Assembly at Middlezoy this afternoon. The next family assembly at Middlezoy will be on the 14th of January 2019.

Tuesday 18th December

Middlezoy Primary School are holding their Christmas Carol Service. The service starts at 6.00pm at Middlezoy Church. The PTA will be selling refreshments from 5.30pm at the church. Teachers will be responsible for the children from 5.45pm and we anticipate that the service will finish at approximately 7pm.

Wednesday 19th December

As a Christmas treat for all the children, we have arranged for the Image Theatre Group to perform a production of ‘The Selfish Giant’.

The performance will take place at Middlezoy Village Hall from 2.00 – 3.00pm, therefore pupils will be late back to both schools. Children from Othery School will be transported to Middlezoy on the minibus or in staff/parent cars. All children can be collected directly from the Village Hall at 3.00pm or will be walked/taken by minibus back to school for collection. If your child requires a booster seat please bring it into school on Tuesday morning. Please label with your child’s name.

We are asking for a voluntary donation of £2 per child to put towards the cost of the production (over £350).

Thursday 20th December

Othery Village School are performing ‘A King is Born’ for their Christmas Nativity. The performances are taking place at 2.00pm and 6.00pm at Othery School. As space is very limited we have had to issue tickets for these performances and these are restricted to 4 per family. Entrance is by ticket only and these will be available from 6pm on Thursday 6th December at eventbrite.

Friday 21st December

The children may wear party clothes on the last day of term. As the children will be walking to the Village Halls for their Christmas lunch, please ensure they have suitable outdoor wear & footwear. The children will return to school after lunch. As the PTA are very kindly providing the Christmas lunch for all pupils, children will not need to bring in a packed lunch or order a hot meal on this day.

Should you have any queries regarding the above, please do not hesitate to contact either myself or the School Offices.

Many thanks for your continued support.
