New SENCO!

Saturday 20th June, 2020

We are excited to announce the appointment of our new SENCo, Ms Ellie Booth.

Ellie comes to us from SCITT (School Centred Initial Teacher Training), where she works training teachers how to teach (She has a wealth of experience in teaching and is an outstanding practitioner, having worked in other primary schools previously too.

Ellie will be working fulltime at our school and will spend nearly half of her time working as our Special Educational Needs co -Ordinator. We will not need to share her with any other schools, and she will be based at Othery school.

The benefits of this arrangement are primarily that she will be accessible to pupils, staff and parents each day.

Teaching is a relationship-based profession. With Ellie in our schools, she will have the opportunity to build those important relationships with the whole school community and parents and carers too.

We know that she will make a big impact to the quality of SEND provision within our school.
