At Middlezoy and Othery Village Schools we offer a broad and structured approach towards Physical Education.
Our curriculum is structured in a way so children build a range of skills over time. In KS1 we focus on the fundamentals of PE such as Agility, Balance and Co-ordination. We structure our sessions around these core concepts and deliver them through fun and active sessions. Enjoyment for all is an important of our school ethos and this comes out through our PE sessions. In KS2 we build on this strong foundation of core skills and start to focus more on team sports and activities. We teach a broad range of sports and focus on teamwork and also how to be the best you can be and how you can improve. Teamwork is an important skill throughout life and we also teach this through PE lessons with a focus on communication, sportsmanship and leadership. Children thoroughly enjoy PE and we encourage and promote more PE to take place outside of school also.
Over the academic year we take part in a wide variety of intra and inter school sports competitions and festivals. These take place and other schools and our own. For intra sports every child is put into a colour team and takes part in competitions linked to the PE curriculum. Inter sports teams are varied and some individual and some team. We participate in the following below.
Inter School Sports Competitions and Festivals

- Athletics/Sports Hall Athletics
