Virtual Sports Event
Wednesday 24th June, 2020
Good Morning Everyone,
It’s Mr. C here!
I am very excited to announce that your Middlezoy and Othery are taking part in our first ever “Virtual Sports Event”. All children will have a chance to take part in 5 events and help their house group, class and school become the first Virtual Sports Event Champion.
Shortly you will receive notifications from your class teachers of your house groups. You will have the opportunity to compete in your house groups against children in your class and across the whole school.
Without the traditional Sports day this rather than miss out the idea is that as many children as possible across the whole school can take part in a virtual sports event.
There are five exciting events which the whole school will be participating in
Event 1 – 30 sec sprint
Event 2 – 3-minute-long distance run
Event 3 – Hop, skip and jump
Event 4 – Speed bounce
Event 5 – Target throw
Events can be done anywhere – back gardens, front rooms, etc. These events can be done by anyone of any age. I really want everybody to come together and give this is a go so we can get everyone involved.
From Monday on this page and on the PE section of the Google Classroom school website there will be an interactive timetable containing an instructional video for parents/children on explaining on how everything works to make it as simple as possible for you to take part.
There is an interactive timetable which has hyperlinks to all the event video explanations also.
All the planning of is already done and the only thing needed to do is for the children to take part! For this event to run smoothly and for your scores to count please get your final scores to your teacher as soon as possible.
This can be done via whatever form of communication you are using. Every child who takes part will get a certificate of participation, the winning house in each class will get a certificate and the overall house winner of the whole school will win the title of first ever of Virtual Sports Event Champions 2020.
The event will take place from Monday 29th June to Fri 3rd July. The more of you that take part the better and we can make this a real competition between the houses and even other schools. More importantly all children being the best they can be!
Thanks so much and I am so excited to see how many of you get involved.
